Overview
- ANTT authorized a base fare of R$21 on BR-040 starting November 4, diverging from the R$17 cited at the concession signing and representing about a 45% increase.
- Deputy Hugo Leal and Petrópolis Mayor Hingo Hammes filed a representation at the TCU seeking suspension of the increase and an audit, alleging breach of tariff moderation and improper pre-contract inflation indexing.
- Elovias, which holds the 30-year BR-040 concession, said it is calculating progressive discounts of 19% to 46% for frequent users depending on plaza and days of use.
- São Paulo began free-flow tolling on stretches including Mogi-Dutra, Mogi-Bertioga, Rio-Santos and Padre Manoel da Nóbrega, with charges such as R$1.56 on the Arujá segment of Mogi-Dutra and R$6.95 on Mogi-Bertioga.
- Under Contran’s rules, drivers have 30 days to pay free-flow charges, while legal disputes continue as Arujá won a liminar halting collection on the urban Mogi-Dutra segment and the TJSP president revoked a separate injunction that would have blocked pórtico operations.
