Boy George to Return to Broadway in 'Moulin Rouge! The Musical' as Harold Zidler from February to May 2024

20 Years After 'Taboo,' Award-Winning Pop Icon Boy George Returns to Broadway as Moulin Rouge Club Owner Harold Zidler, Adding to the Ensemble Cast for Over 90 Performances.

  • Grammy Award-winning pop icon Boy George will join the cast of 'Moulin Rouge! The Musical' on Broadway as the character Harold Zidler for a limited engagement from February 6 to May 12, 2024.
  • Boy George's last appearance on Broadway was in the musical 'Taboo' which debuted 20 years ago; he not only starred in but also composed the music and lyrics for the show.
  • In 'Moulin Rouge! The Musical', George will replace actor Tituss Burgess, with Eric Anderson covering the role between December 19, 2023 and February 4, 2024.
  • In a new twist, Boy George’s character will perform the opening number that includes a snippet of “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)” by Dead or Alive — a band fronted by Pete Burns who was George’s '80s 'nemesis'.
  • Despite his extensive career in pop, this is Boy George's second ever role on Broadway, noting in an interview on the Today Show that he's excited to be a part of an ensemble cast.
