Boy George to Return to Broadway in 'Moulin Rouge! The Musical' as Harold Zidler from February to May 2024

20 Years After 'Taboo,' Award-Winning Pop Icon Boy George Returns to Broadway as Moulin Rouge Club Owner Harold Zidler, Adding to the Ensemble Cast for Over 90 Performances.

Grammy Award-winning pop icon Boy George will join the cast of 'Moulin Rouge! The Musical' on Broadway as the character Harold Zidler for a limited engagement from February 6 to May 12, 2024.
Boy George's last appearance on Broadway was in the musical 'Taboo' which debuted 20 years ago; he not only starred in but also composed the music and lyrics for the show.
In 'Moulin Rouge! The Musical', George will replace actor Tituss Burgess, with Eric Anderson covering the role between December 19, 2023 and February 4, 2024.
In a new twist, Boy George’s character will perform the opening number that includes a snippet of “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)” by Dead or Alive — a band fronted by Pete Burns who was George’s '80s 'nemesis'.
Despite his extensive career in pop, this is Boy George's second ever role on Broadway, noting in an interview on the Today Show that he's excited to be a part of an ensemble cast.
