Boy, 15, Fatally Struck While Walking on North Telegraph Road in Frenchtown Township

Overview

• The collision was reported around 1:30 a.m. near Paree Street as the teen walked by the white fog line with a 14-year-old companion.
• A 31-year-old Newport woman driving a white Dodge Journey stopped at a nearby gas station after initially believing she hit a non-fixed object.
• She contacted law enforcement after noticing damage to her vehicle, and the SUV’s airbags did not deploy.
• The teen was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, and the driver was uninjured and later released by the sheriff’s office.
