Overview
- Frankie-Rae Law, 11, from Braintree, Essex, complained of a sore throat on Nov. 14 and later collapsed at home, according to his mother.
- His mother says a local GP assessed him earlier that day and told them it was “just a virus.”
- She reports he gasped that he couldn’t breathe around 1:43 a.m., was found slumped in the bathroom, and received prolonged CPR from a relative before paramedics arrived.
- Paramedics said defibrillator pads could not be used because he had no heart rhythm; he was taken to Broomfield Hospital, where attempts continued, an MRI was performed, and life support was withdrawn around 3:30 a.m.
- The family say doctors have not determined a cause of death; a GoFundMe has been launched and schools and neighbors have left flowers and memorial tributes.
