• The collision occurred around 5:50 p.m. Monday on Ocean Parkway near Avenue V in Gravesend, police said.
• Police say a northbound 2026 Acura Integra struck the child as he rode a scooter and did not stop.
• The Acura was later found abandoned near 1801 Ocean Parkway, and officers say the driver fled on foot.
• EMS took the child and a 25-year-old man to Maimonides Medical Center, where the boy was in critical condition and the man was stable.
