Boxing Champion Mylik Birdsong Killed in Los Angeles Drive-By Shooting

The 31-year-old welterweight titleholder was shot multiple times outside his home on Sunday afternoon.

Mylik Birdsong, reigning World Boxing Foundation International Welterweight champion, was killed in a drive-by shooting in South Los Angeles on Sunday.
The incident occurred around 4:50 PM when a dark-colored SUV approached Birdsong and opened fire, according to the LAPD.
Birdsong attempted to flee but was chased by two men who exited the vehicle and continued shooting, hitting him seven times in the chest.
Emergency responders transported Birdsong to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Birdsong, who held a 15-1-1 professional record with 10 knockouts, was scheduled to fight Gor Yeritsyan on October 26.
