Overview
- AFC Bournemouth confirmed the season-long loan of 24-year-old Christos Mandas from Lazio, assigning him shirt number 29.
- The deal includes a €1.5m fee now, a £16m option to buy tied to a set percentage of starts, and a further €1m payable to Lazio if the option is not taken.
- Mandas becomes Bournemouth’s first Greek player and the club’s third January addition after goalkeeper Fraser Forster and midfielder Alex Toth.
- He has made 33 appearances for Lazio since 2023 and featured only in this season’s Coppa Italia, with two senior caps for Greece.
- Mandas called the switch a dream move, and head of football operations Tiago Pinto said his experience and composure will add quality to the squad.
