Boulder Creek Man Arrested for Double Homicide After Month-Long Investigation

James David Collier, 66, faces two murder charges in the deaths of Sean Pfeffer and Colter White, with motive and relationships still under investigation.

  • The bodies of Sean Pfeffer, 45, and Colter White, 53, were found on March 24 in the bed of an abandoned pickup truck along Highway 35 in the Santa Cruz Mountains, both shot to death.
  • James David Collier, identified as the suspect on April 6, was arrested without incident on April 27 at his home in Boulder Creek and is being held without bail in the Santa Clara County Jail.
  • Investigators were led to Collier in part by a Facebook post Pfeffer made on March 23, naming Collier as a potential threat before his death.
