Overview
- Seventeen practitioners have been ordered to staff out-of-hours primary care from December 25 to January 4 across La Ciotat, Aubagne, Martigues and Saint-Mitre-les-Remparts.
- Assignments are distributed as eight in La Ciotat, five in Aubagne, three in Martigues and one in Saint-Mitre-les-Remparts.
- Each doctor must complete a single duty, either a full day from 8:00 to midnight or an evening shift from 20:00 to midnight.
- The move follows volunteer shortfalls that left more than half of out-of-hours slots uncovered in the department, the only such situation reported in metropolitan France.
- The ARS selected non-exempt physicians with no upcoming guard commitments, while some doctors, citing very short notice, say they will contest the orders before the administrative court.
