Botswana Hands Over 8 Cheetahs to India as Murmu Concludes First State Visit

  • India and Botswana announced a memorandum of understanding on health and pharmaceuticals, with India committing a consignment of antiretroviral medicines at Botswana’s request.
  • The leaders held delegation-level talks and agreed to expand cooperation across trade, investment, agriculture, renewable energy, health, education, skill development, defence and digital technology.
  • The transfer marks the next phase of Project Cheetah, building on earlier relocations from Namibia in 2022 and South Africa in 2023.
