Boston Police Seek Suspect in Fenway Assault That Left 22-Year-Old in Rehab

Investigators released surveillance video showing a person of interest leaving Lansdowne Street after the Sept. 28 attack.

  • Jack Farrell, 22, was struck around 12:38–12:40 a.m. near Loretta’s Last Call after leaving a Red Sox game and waiting for an Uber, leaving him unconscious in the crosswalk.
  • He suffered multiple facial fractures and a traumatic brain injury with a brain bleed, underwent emergency surgery to remove part of his skull, and spent days in a medically induced coma.
  • Farrell is now at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, where he is walking and talking, wearing a protective helmet, and preparing for physical, occupational, and speech therapy as well as additional brain surgery.
  • Surveillance video shows a person of interest walking away from the scene and detectives say the suspect fled toward Brookline Avenue, with no arrest reported.
  • Police urge tips to District D-4 detectives or CrimeStoppers, and a family fundraiser has raised more than $33,000 as of Friday afternoon.
