- Employees reported wallets with cash, IDs, and bank cards stolen during work hours, with fraudulent purchases later made at local retailers.
- O'Neil was already in custody after a Dec. 27 arrest at Dick's House of Sport, where officers recovered about $408 in merchandise and charged him with larceny under $1,200 and common and notorious thief.
- Investigators say O'Neil also had seven active warrants, and he is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court as councilors press for tighter security protocols.
