Dr. Sudipta Mohanty, a Boston doctor, has been found not guilty of masturbating next to a 14-year-old girl on a plane.
The accusation was made following a Hawaiian Airlines flight from Honolulu to Boston in May 2022.
More than a dozen passengers and flight attendants reported seeing nothing consistent with the accusation.
Mohanty opted for a bench trial, resulting in his acquittal by a judge, not a jury.
Mohanty faced up to 90 days in prison, a fine of $5,000, and one year of supervised release if convicted.
