- Mayor Michelle Wu issued the proclamation on Aug. 30 and unveiled the street sign at Dearborn Street at the corner of Albany and Ambrose in front of the Orchard Gardens Boys & Girls Club.
- All six members—Ralph Tresvant, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ronnie DeVoe, and Johnny Gill—joined officials including Rep. Ayanna Pressley to address fans at the ceremony.
- Ricky Bell donated $25,000 to the Orchard Gardens Resident Association, and Johnny Gill contributed $25,000 to the Boston Arts Academy Foundation.
- The dedication rolled into a neighborhood block party featuring music, free food, a youth backpack giveaway, and a large community turnout.
- The tribute formed part of Boston’s For the Culture Week highlighting Black history and HBCU pride, which also featured the Essence HBCU Classic at Harvard Stadium and additional events across the city.
