Boston awarded NWSL expansion team set to debut in 2026

Boston will gain a National Women's Soccer League team starting in 2026 backed by an all-female ownership group.
The ownership group, Boston Unity Soccer Partners, will invest over $100 million including upgrades to White Stadium.
This will be Boston's second NWSL team after the Boston Breakers folded in 2018 due to business challenges.
The NWSL has expanded to 14 teams and is gaining popularity, viewership, and better pay for players.
