Boris Herrmann Climbs to Third in Vendée Globe Race

The German sailor makes a remarkable comeback in the solo round-the-world race, closing in on the leaders.

Boris Herrmann, skipper of 'Malizia – Seaexplorer', advanced from 40th to 3rd place in the Vendée Globe after five days at sea.
The race began with 40 solo sailors departing from Les Sables d’Olonne, France, on November 10th for the non-stop global circumnavigation.
Despite a challenging start, Herrmann quickly recovered and now trails closely behind the leading boats.
British sailor Sam Goodchild currently leads the fleet, with Herrmann's former navigator Nico Lunven in second place.
Swiss sailor Justine Mettraux is the top-ranked female competitor, closely contesting third place with Herrmann.
