Borderlands 4’s Steep PC Specs and Deluxe Pricing Draw Gamer Backlash

Many gamers say the demanding requirements, alongside deluxe edition costs, are unreasonable so early before launch.

Overview

  • Gearbox’s official Steam page lists Borderlands 4’s minimum PC specs as an octa-core CPU, Nvidia RTX 2070 or AMD RX 5700 XT, 16 GB of RAM, 8 GB VRAM and a 100 GB SSD.
  • Recommended requirements include a Core i7-12700 or Ryzen 7 5800X, RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT graphics with at least 12 GB VRAM, 32 GB of RAM and an SSD.
  • Deluxe and Super Deluxe editions cost $99.99 and $129.99 respectively, unlocking four unique areas, missions, vehicles and two exclusive playable Vault Hunters.
  • The game will employ Denuvo and Symbiote DRM solutions that gamers fear may further hamper performance on less powerful rigs.
  • Borderlands 4 is set to launch on September 12, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a later release scheduled for Nintendo Switch 2.
