- National Crime Agency officers discovered 25kg of heroin in a suitcase at Birmingham Airport after a flight from Pakistan.
- The suitcase was linked to Zahida Perveen, 67, of Openshaw, Manchester, who was arrested shortly after arrival.
- Border Force officer Syed Shah, 39, of Hodge Hill, Birmingham, was arrested at the airport on Friday, October 24.
- A third suspect, Shahid Butt, 52, of Saltley, Birmingham, was arrested in connection with the alleged offence.
- All three are charged with conspiracy to import Class A drugs, with Shah and Butt also charged with money laundering, and are scheduled to appear in court this morning.
