Booths Recalls Beef Meatballs After Gluten-Containing Burgers Discovered

A packing error has placed gluten-containing burgers into packs marked gluten-free, prompting a full refund offer for affected products.

Overview

  • The Food Standards Agency recall covers 288 g packs labelled as 12 Aberdeen Angus Beef Meatballs sold at Booths stores in England with a use-by date of August 13, 2025.
  • Only the batch with that use-by date is affected and no other Aberdeen Angus Beef Meatball products are included in the recall.
  • Individuals with coeliac disease or a wheat/gluten intolerance are advised not to consume the product to avoid possible reactions such as diarrhoea, bloating and indigestion.
  • Affected packs can be returned to any Booths store for a full refund without a receipt.
  • Consumers seeking further information can call Booths’ helpline at 0800 221 8086, available Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
