  • Former winner Kiran Desai returns with her first book since 2006, the 667-page novel The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny.
  • Debut novelists Maria Reva and Ledia Xhoga are joined by established writers such as Tash Aw, Natasha Brown and Susan Choi.
  • A six-title shortlist will be unveiled on September 23, setting up the winner announcement on November 10 in London.
