Overview

  • Fland underwent sports hernia surgery on July 3 and faces a four-to-six-week recovery timeline.
  • He has missed the final three weeks of summer workouts as he follows his rehabilitation plan.
  • Golden explained that choosing surgery over playing through the injury will prevent season-long complications.
  • The 6-foot-2 sophomore averaged 13.5 points, 5.1 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 21 games last season at Arkansas before signing with Florida in May.
  • Fland is set to join transfers Xaivian Lee and AJ Brown in Florida’s backcourt as the Gators replace NBA-bound guards from their national championship roster.
