- The 22nd edition runs Nov. 28 to Dec. 6 in Marrakech, where the international jury will award the Étoile d’Or to one of 14 debut or sophomore features.
- Bong said he is delighted and honored to join a festival he called a champion of fresh, beautiful films and looks forward to a powerful cinematic experience with audiences.
- The festival is presided over by producer Melita Toscan du Plantier, and Bong follows last year’s jury head Luca Guadagnino.
- Bong’s recent feature is Mickey 17, his eighth film, which stars Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.
- His career is concurrently being celebrated at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles with the exhibition Director’s Inspiration: Bong Joon Ho, running through January 2027.
