Bone Identified as Missing Northern California Man's After Seven Years

DNA analysis confirmed the tibia found in Humboldt County belongs to Mark Burleigh, missing since 2017.

The tibia bone was discovered in the South Fork of the Eel River near Redway, California, in July.
Mark Burleigh was last seen in October 2017 after being released from the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
Burleigh's family reported him missing in February 2018, and his mother continued to search for him.
Initial examinations suggested the bone might not be human, but further analysis confirmed it belonged to Burleigh.
The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the case and seeking additional information.
