Overview

  • The extension runs until August 27 and applies to residents of floors 17–34 lacking Occupation Certificates and Fire NOCs.
  • Justices Girish Kulkarni and Arif Doctor made clear this is the last reprieve and that no further time will be granted.
  • Senior advocate Dinyar Madon told the court that 27 families face challenges relocating during Paryushan, Ganpati celebrations and the school term.
  • On August 1 the Supreme Court upheld the High Court’s eviction order, calling it “bold and lucid” and directing any extension pleas back to the HC.
  • A follow-up hearing on August 13 will focus on pending partial OCs and Fire clearances for the building’s first 16 floors.
