Bombay HC Keeps Travel Bar on Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra in Rs 60-Crore Probe

The bench kept the Look Out Circular in place, seeking the state's reply before an Oct. 8 hearing.

Overview

  • The High Court refused interim suspension of the Look Out Circular, stopping the couple’s Oct. 2–5 Phuket trip.
  • The case stems from a complaint by Deepak Kothari alleging Rs 60.48 crore was routed to Best Deal TV and misused, leading to an FIR under IPC sections 403, 406 and 34.
  • Investigators have reportedly traced close to Rs 25 crore in transfers to multiple accounts, including payments linked to actresses and a production house, which are under verification.
  • Kundra’s side says he appeared before the EOW on Sept. 15 and that Shetty resigned from Best Deal TV in 2016, while her lawyer denies reports of Rs 15 crore reaching a Shetty-owned entity.
  • Prosecutors were directed to file a reply, with the matter listed on Oct. 8, and the couple cited additional upcoming travel for work and family reasons.
