Bombardier Delivers First Global 8000, Marking Entry Into Service

Transport Canada certified the jet in November, with U.S. and European approvals still pending.

Overview

  • Bombardier handed over the inaugural Global 8000 on December 8 at its Mississauga assembly center to Canadian entrepreneur Patrick Dovigi.
  • The type received Transport Canada type certification on November 5, 2025, and FAA and EASA certifications remain pending.
  • Chartright Air Group said it will take operational custody of the first aircraft on behalf of the owner.
  • Bombardier says the jet tops out at Mach 0.95, flies 8,000 nautical miles, and maintains a 2,691‑foot cabin altitude at 41,000 feet, the lowest among business jets in production.
  • The cabin features four separate living spaces and a dedicated crew rest area, and Bombardier cites an advanced slatted wing designed to expand access to additional airports.
