Bomb-Threat Emails Hit Two Jaipur Schools and Alwar Office
Investigators are examining possible links to earlier hoax emails previously traced to Chennai.
Overview
- Springfield School in Mansarovar and a private school in Shivdaspura received emailed bomb threats on Monday morning, with one message arriving at 5:14 a.m. warning of an explosion before 2:30 p.m.
- Police, bomb disposal units and dog squads searched both campuses, and administrators evacuated the schools with students and staff sent home as a precaution.
- A separate threatening email reached the Alwar mini secretariat warning of a blast on September 8, prompting heightened security there as well.
- Officials noted similar emails on August 20 to The Palace School and SMS School in Jaipur that proved to be hoaxes after searches found nothing suspicious.
- ADM Bina Mahavar said the emails appeared to originate outside the district and referenced earlier cases traced to Chennai, as police treat the alerts as part of a disruptive pattern and continue forensic inquiries.
