Overview

• The 20th‑anniversary festival opened today across Bolton town centre and runs through Monday, August 25, with most attractions free to attend.
• More than 180 traders are set up across key sites including Victoria Square, Le Mans Crescent and Elizabeth Park, offering global food, drinks and market goods.
• Marco Pierre White headlines Saturday with cooking demos at 11am and 1pm followed by a 3pm Q&A, while James Martin leads Monday with demos at 11am, 1pm and 3pm; headline sessions will be BSL interpreted.
• Families can access a wide free programme including the Festival Garden (10am–6pm daily), a Family Festival at the Octagon Theatre, activities in Elizabeth Park and Cook & Dine sessions for young chefs.
• Live music features across the weekend with acts including East 17, and limited tickets remain for special events such as Faulty Towers The Dining Experience as council leaders point to millions in visitor spending over the years.
