Bollywood Star's Sister Charged with Double Murder in New York Arson Case

Aliya Fakhri, sister of actress Nargis Fakhri, faces life in prison for allegedly setting a fire that killed her ex-boyfriend and his friend.

Aliya Fakhri, 43, is accused of setting fire to a garage in Queens, New York, killing her ex-boyfriend Edward Jacobs, 35, and his friend Anastasia Ettienne, 33.
Witnesses reported hearing Fakhri yell 'You’re all going to die today' before the fire, which trapped the victims inside and caused fatal smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.
Fakhri has been charged with multiple counts of first- and second-degree murder, as well as arson, and could face life imprisonment if convicted.
The alleged motive centers on Fakhri’s inability to accept Jacobs’ rejection after their breakup over a year ago, according to the victim’s family.
Nargis Fakhri, who has not been in contact with her sister for over 20 years, has not commented on the case, but their mother has defended Aliya, citing her struggles with opioid addiction.
