Bolivarian Games Open in Peru Tonight With Lima Torch Relay and Callao Ceremony at 7 p.m.

Authorities outline traffic changes for the Lima relay after organizers relocated most events from Ayacucho because planned venues were not ready.

Overview

  • ODEBO confirmed the opening ceremony will be held at Fortaleza Real Felipe in Callao at 7:00 p.m., with delegations from 17 countries taking part.
  • The torch relay runs two legs in Lima today, starting 10:00 a.m. along Miraflores’ coast and then from the National Stadium to Plaza Mayor in the afternoon.
  • ATU announced targeted detours today for the relay and broader adjustments Sunday for the marathon, including temporary Metropolitano station closures in the city center.
  • Most competitions were moved to Lima and Callao due to Ayacucho infrastructure shortfalls, with Ayacucho hosting only five disciplines: MTB cross-country, boxing, taekwondo, kickboxing and wushu.
  • The Games run from November 22 to December 7 with 4,000+ athletes across dozens of sports; Team Perú fields 642 athletes, has named its flagbearers, and some events such as E‑Sports began on November 21.
