Boko Haram Ambush in Nigeria Leaves 7 Security Operatives Missing

A convoy protecting power infrastructure was attacked by insurgents, resulting in significant casualties.

The attack occurred during a patrol mission in Shiroro, Niger state, involving around 200 Boko Haram fighters.
At least 50 insurgents were killed in the confrontation, according to Nigerian security forces.
Seven members of the Nigerian Civil Defence Corps are currently missing following the ambush.
Boko Haram, active since 2009, continues to target infrastructure and civilians, despite military efforts to weaken the group.
The insurgency has resulted in over 35,000 civilian deaths and displaced more than 2 million people in northeastern Nigeria.
