- Boeing released its 2026 Commercial Market Outlook at Farnborough on Friday and forecast about 43,625 new jet and freighter deliveries from 2026 through 2045.
- The planemaker projects the global fleet will grow from roughly 28,000 aircraft in 2025 to about 50,000 by 2045 as new‑generation jets rise to 92% of the fleet.
- Boeing also published services and workforce studies that estimate a $4.9 trillion support‑and‑services market and demand for more than 2.4 million pilots, technicians and cabin crew through 2045.
- The company said near‑term passenger traffic will slow to around 2.3% growth in 2026 with a rebound in 2027–28, but warned manufacturing capacity and certification delays for models such as the 737 MAX 7/10 and 777‑9 could prolong delivery bottlenecks.
- If shortages persist, airlines may face longer waits to modernize fleets and will need more outside maintenance and trained staff, which could boost service demand and reshape hiring and training practices across regions including China, North America and Eurasia.
