Boeing Delivers 55 Jets in September, Pushing 2025 Toward Best Year Since 2018

An FAA cap on 737 MAX output still governs the pace of the recovery.

Overview

  • Boeing has delivered 440 aircraft through September, compared with 507 at Airbus for the same period.
  • September handovers included 40 737 MAX jets — 10 to Ryanair — along with seven 787s, three 777 freighters and four 767s.
  • The company reported 96 gross orders in September and 48 net after accounting adjustments, led by 50 787s for Turkish Airlines and 30 737s for Norwegian.
  • The FAA’s 38-per-month limit on 737 MAX production remains in place, while CEO Kelly Ortberg has said the rate is expected to reach 42 per month by year-end pending approval.
  • Eight jets were delivered to Chinese customers as a threatened U.S. export curb on Boeing parts eased after weekend communications between Washington and Beijing.
