• Deputy Devon Miller responded after an 86-year-old Destin-area woman failed to return from a routine walk with her son’s dog, Eeyore.
• Body camera footage shows Miller spotting the loose dog and asking it to lead the way before following it through the neighborhood.
• The dog guided the deputy to the woman lying on a sidewalk in the Shalimar/Destin area, where she was found alert and conscious.
• Officials said the woman sustained a non-life-threatening leg injury and was transported to a medical facility for evaluation.
• The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office posted the video on Facebook on Oct. 6, praised Eeyore as a hero, and declined to release the couple’s names.
