Overview
- Hikers reported the discovery Sunday in the Ranchillo ravine near the Chacay stream, roughly a 90‑minute walk from the Route 7 access.
 - Police, rescue patrol, firefighters and Gendarmerie recovered the remains and collected evidence in the remote area.
 - A disability certificate inside the abandoned pickup enabled officers to contact a relative of its owner, who has been out of touch since Wednesday.
 - No obvious signs of violence were observed, and authorities say drowning is a working hypothesis pending the autopsy by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
 - The Homicide Unit and local prosecutors continue the identification process and plan to release an update once initial tests are complete.
