- Officials said the body was recovered just before noon Monday in the 3100 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive and was pronounced dead at the scene.
- The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the remains are Linda Brown, 53, who had been reported missing earlier this month.
- Police have closed the missing-person case and are conducting a death investigation while the medical examiner schedules an autopsy.
- Surveillance footage placed Brown on Jan. 3 walking east across a pedestrian bridge near the 3500 block of South Lake Park Avenue after her blue 2021 Honda Civic was found near 35th and Lake Park.
- Family said Brown left for a routine acupuncture appointment with her phone, purse and credit cards and taught at Robert Healy Elementary, where district support teams have been engaged.
