Body of Missing Swimmer Recovered From San Juan Reservoir

Overview

  • A 30-year-old man disappeared while swimming near Cala del Tiburón in the Pantano de San Juan on Saturday at about 18:30, Guardia Civil GEAS reported.
  • Emergency services from the Comunidad de Madrid searched until 23:00 on Saturday before resuming operations Sunday morning under GEAS coordination.
  • GEAS divers located the man’s body at around 12 meters depth and approximately 10 meters from the shoreline at about 12:30 on Sunday.
  • The body was moved to a secure point for lifting and then transferred to the institute of legal medicine for autopsy.
  • A team of psychologists from Madrid’s SUMMA 112 service provided on-site support to the man’s friends and family.
