Security camera video showed the husband of a missing woman found dead in Angeles National Forest dragging what appeared to be a large object from their apartment.

Overview

  • Security footage from the couple’s Lancaster apartment complex shows Jossimar Cabrera dragging a large object wrapped in material days before the discovery.
  • Montrose Mountain Search and Rescue found similar material over an embankment on Aug. 16 that contained the body of 33-year-old Sheylla Cabrera, with cause of death pending from the county medical examiner.
  • Jossimar Cabrera, 36, has been named a person of interest and is believed to be in Peru, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
  • The couple’s three young sons were located unharmed in Peru, placed in protective custody, and repatriated to Los Angeles via Mexico City, authorities said.
  • Investigators are coordinating with Mexican and Peruvian consular officials to pursue the case, as Peruvian media report officials questioned but did not detain the father at Lima’s airport.
