Overview

• Juan Herrera and Angelita Silva de Souza set out from Port Adriano on June 8 aboard the seven-meter Sea Ray ‘Zaragall’ for a recreational fishing trip.
• The couple’s boat was found adrift on June 10, about 0.3 miles from sa Dragonera, with phones and personal items inside but missing a life jacket and lifebuoy.
• On June 12, Guardia Civil divers located and recovered Herrera’s body at a depth of approximately 90 meters near sa Dragonera.
• Search operations involving Guardia Civil GEAS teams, Salvamento Marítimo vessels, a helicopter and a robot submarine continue to scour the area for Silva de Souza.
• Judicial investigators have opened an inquiry and an autopsy has begun to clarify the circumstances surrounding Herrera’s death.
