Overview

• Rescuers located Hall’s body in a crevice about 200 m below the Cross of Daloo at around 7 pm on Wednesday.
• The four-day search launched after he failed to check out on July 11 involved Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, Alpine Rescue teams, drones and sniffer dogs using his last photo and text as reference.
• A helicopter was deployed to extract the remains safely from the steep, hazardous terrain and airlift them to Sondrio’s hospital.
• Italian prosecutors have been informed under standard procedure and officials have ruled the death accidental.
• Hall’s family, supported by friends, Quickline Communications colleagues and the FCDO, are arranging repatriation and ongoing assistance.
