Overview

• Emergency services were called at about 7.15pm on Sunday after three cars collided sequentially with an unoccupied motorcycle on the northbound Pacific Motorway near Billinudgel.
• Members of the public located the body of a man believed to be the motorcyclist shortly after the collisions, and his identity remains unconfirmed.
• All three drivers were taken to Byron Bay and Tweed Valley hospitals for mandatory testing by NSW Police.
• The seized vehicles are undergoing forensic examination as part of an active investigation led by the Port Stephens-Hunter Critical Incident Team.
• Northbound lanes were closed and traffic was diverted via Riverside Crescent to Yelgun while heavy vehicles were instructed to delay departures.
