Body Found in Thames Believed to Be Valentine’s Day Shooting Suspect

Police investigating the murder of Lisa Smith have recovered a body near Rainham, Essex, believed to be her husband and prime suspect, Edvard Stockings.

Stockings' car, containing a handgun, was found abandoned on the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge the night of the shooting, and he was presumed to have jumped into the River Thames.
On Friday, March 7, 2025, a body was discovered in the Thames near Rainham, Essex; formal identification is pending, but Stockings' family has been informed.
