Overview
- Liam Loughlin, 33, was last seen leaving Tudor Lodge Service Station on Marton Road at 1.34am on Sunday, August 30, and was believed to be heading towards the James Cook University Hospital area.
- Cleveland Police confirmed on Wednesday that a body located during the search has been identified as Mr Loughlin.
- The force said the death is not being treated as suspicious and offered condolences to his family and friends.
- Police had earlier issued a public appeal with a clothing description and asked anyone with information to call 101 quoting reference SE26175054, but that appeal has been superseded by today’s statement.
- Officers will prepare a file for the coroner so a formal cause of death can be determined, a process that usually follows unexplained deaths and may lead to an inquest if the coroner requires one.
