Body Found in Frederick After Radio Caller’s Tip

Police have not said how they were notified despite widespread attention to the radio call.

  • Frederick Police said a body was located in a wooded area off East Street near Carroll Creek Crossing, with a spokeswoman also referencing East Street at Monocacy Boulevard in separate communication.
  • A caller identifying himself as Joseph told DC101’s Elliot in the Morning he found the remains 18 days earlier near a campsite and had not contacted authorities.
  • Host Elliot Segal urged the caller to contact law enforcement, after which detectives said they received multiple calls and found the individual.
  • As of Sunday, police reported no confirmed identification or cause of death and stated there is no threat to the public.
