• A homeowner uncovered a male body floating in his East Shoreham backyard pool on May 25 while removing the winter cover.
• Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad is treating the discovery as potentially linked to Matthew Zoll, who was wanted in the November stabbing death of his father in Rocky Point.
• Zoll, diagnosed with schizophrenia, allegedly fled the scene after the Nov. 9 killing and crashed his vehicle near William Floyd Parkway before escaping on foot.
• The Pal Court pool is located about half a mile from Zoll’s crash site and borders a wooded lot that was searched by U.S. Marshals last fall.
• Investigators are awaiting DNA analysis and autopsy findings to confirm the body’s identity and to establish the cause and manner of death.
