Overview

  • Emergency responders recovered a male body from the East River near East 34th Street and the FDR Drive Friday at around 7 p.m.
  • The victim’s age remains unknown as FDNY Marine 6 and NYPD Harbor Patrol pronounced him dead at the scene.
  • Investigators are comparing the new remains against the profiles of a 15-year-old girl last seen under the Roosevelt Island Bridge and a 17-year-old Staten Island Ferry jumper.
  • The girl disappeared on May 30 after falling into the water beneath the Roosevelt Island Bridge and the boy, identified as Brandon Pino, left a farewell note before entering the river.
  • Authorities have found no additional leads on either teenager while expanding searches across multiple New York City waterways.
