• On May 25 a body surfaced under a partially removed Loop-Loc cover in the backyard pool of Detective Thomas Corso’s East Shoreham home.
• Suffolk County Police cite proximity to Zoll’s crash site, matching clothing and the absence of shoes as strong evidence the remains belong to 23-year-old Matthew Zoll.
• Zoll has been on the run since November after allegedly stabbing his father, Joseph Zoll, to death in their Rocky Point home and crashing his SUV nearby.
• Authorities are awaiting DNA test results and an autopsy by the county medical examiner to confirm the body’s identity and determine cause of death.
• Investigators are examining how Zoll might have entered the yard and become trapped under the winter pool cover without signs of foul play.
