Overview
- A male body was discovered at around 4:15 pm on June 6 in woodland off Kilsyth Road in Banknock and the family of 19-year-old Cole Cooper has been informed
- Formal identification has yet to take place as investigators work to confirm that the remains are those of the missing teenager
- Police Scotland reviewed more than 2,000 hours of CCTV footage and interviewed over 400 people during a month-long search operation
- Cooper was last seen at about 8:45 pm on May 7 near the A803 in Longcroft and had earlier appeared on early-morning CCTV outside his father’s home on May 4
- His family described the discovery as a ‘nightmare’ and vowed to continue seeking answers into how he died
