A swearing-in ceremony in Kokrajhar saw 12 Executive Members take the oath administered by Assam’s Additional Chief Secretary after formal approval from the Governor.
Portfolios were assigned across key departments, including Urban Development, Education, Health and Family Welfare, Transport, and Water Resources.
Munmun Brahma and Begum Akhtara Ahmed were inducted as Executive Members, marking the council’s first inclusion of women.
The Bodoland People’s Front secured 28 of 40 seats in the recent elections and has formed the new BTC government independently.
District representation spans Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Udalguri, and Tamulpur, and oaths were taken in Bodo, English, and Assamese, underscoring linguistic and geographic balance.
