Bodies of Eight Jaipur Youths Identified After Banas River Drowning

Overview

  • On June 10, a group of 11 friends from Jaipur picnicked at the Banas River in Tonk district and entered the water to bathe, where they were caught in a sudden strong current.
  • Tonk Police and SDRF teams recovered all eight bodies and confirmed the victims were males aged 25 to 35, before transferring them to Saadat Hospital for identification.
  • Three other group members were rescued by local residents and are receiving treatment at Sahadat Government Hospital.
  • Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma directed immediate rescue and relief operations and offered condolences, while former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot urged the government to enforce preventive safety measures at river sites.
